NC Community Garden Leaders Regional GROW Workshops

The North Carolina Community Garden Partners (NCCGP) is pleased to announce workshops for North Carolina community garden leaders planned for the fall of 2014. Slide1 The one-day GROW (Gardeners Recreating Our World) workshops will include a networking lunch and community garden tour. Educational topics will include:

  • Vegetable gardening 101; soil health, plant selection and propagation
  • Pollinator-friendly gardening; integrated pest and disease management, adding pollinator gardens to support healthy vegetable gardens
  • Use of season extension techniques to expand the growing season

Oct 4th at the Partners in Ministry, 12 Third Street, East Laurinburg and the Laurinburg Community Garden
Oct 11th at the Catawba County Agricultural Resource Center, 1175 S. Brady Ave, Newton and the Hmong Demonstration Farm in Hickory
Oct 18th at the Stanley White Recreation Complex, 901 Chapman St. New Bern, NC and the Veterans Base Camp Employment Garden
Dec 6th at the Franklinton Center at Bricks, 281 Southbend Ln, Whitakers, NC and their community farm (registration is coming)
